Photo dump

Is it really a dump with only three pictures?? :)

The last 6 days have kicked my butt. The Mr. came down with some virus last week and passed it on to Little Foot and me over the weekend. I stayed home with a fever of 101ish for most of the week, hoping some rest would help. I am now back at work, but man did that stink. Thankfully the worst Little Foot dealt with was a stuffy nose, and even that is getting a little better now.

While home, I took some pictures of my sick baby girl. She's just as cute with a crusty nose ;)

Seriously, those eyes!

For those keeping track- she had her two month appointment last Monday and she was tipping the scales at 8lbs 11.5oz... I'd venture a guess that she is well into the 9lb range now. She also had her first set of shots and handled them really well (minus that first scream, of course).

Little Foot is 10 weeks old.

Two months old!

Our little peanut is growing up so quickly. It's mind-boggling, really. Time apparently does fly when you're sleep deprived having fun :)

In the last month Little Foot has started smiling, can now really hold her head up, and is just generally a lot more alert. She loves car rides, sleeping on one of us and her Mamaroo bouncer. She still hates baths, which doesn't make every third day or so very fun for Mommy and Daddy!

To remember this day we snapped a few photos to share.

 Love
Does she not look like she's waving?!

She's totally giving you the side eye right now

Here is her one month photo.

Our new (hopefully temporary) house guests

As you can imagine we've been pretty busy for the last couple months. As a result, I've been slacking on the home decoration removal process for some of our Christmas decorations. Well, mainly our wreath hanging out front. I buy it fresh in early December and it usually lasts until the end of January when I switch it out for a more seasonally appropriate one.

It wasn't until the Mr. complained about it getting in the way that I realized it had been there for months. Whoops :) As I went to take it down, I noticed a bird flew out of it and remembered the Mr. had brought that up as well. Does anything look out of place to you?

 Nope? How about now?

Yes folks, there is a nest in our wreath. And it also has eggs.

After contacting my Mom, she suggested we leave it alone so the babies don't die (so sad!). And she also thought it might be a house finch. Even better, she sent me this link which has a picture of a nest in a wreath. Too funny.

The many faces of Little Foot

I actually forgot I had these until I looked at my phone today. I snapped these pictures on my last day of maternity leave. I can't get enough of her faces.

Swoon.

8 weeks old!

It's time for some more weekly pictures. It's still annoying that 8 weeks doesn't equal two months, but what are you gonna do?

We're enjoying the warmer weather and foregoing pants today... but her feet still get cold, so we're rocking some socks. Someone please tell me this isn't as big a faux pas as socks with sandals ;)

And this sequence of photos just cracks me up.

"At first I was like"
 "Then I was like"
"But then I was like"

Also, how cute is she?!?!?!? No, I am not biased at all ;)

We survived the first day

Yesterday was my first day back to work and Little Foot's first day in daycare. I know it's a huge shock, but somehow both of us survived. Actually, it went really well. Minus some badge issues on my end, it was a good day. I was told she was an angel... of course! ;)

I had the Mr. snap a (dark and grainy) picture of me to remember the day.

After I brought her home, all she wanted to do was eat and sleep... in a very interesting position.
I know it'll get easier as the days go by, but it's still hard saying bye to my baby!!

7 weeks old!

This is my last week home with Little Foot and I am soaking up all the cuddles I can.

It's amazing to me that it's time for me to head back to work. Things are going so well now that I can understand why people stay home with their babies. (The first two weeks were a bit different and I thought all stay at home parents were craaazy.) I am excited to get back to work, especially since we settled on a fabulous in-home daycare, but it's going to be tough leaving my little peanut.

All this talk is exhausting her... time for a nap :)

From then 'til now

I posted a picture on Facebook yesterday of Little Foot in her car seat and it really hit me (and my mom!) how much she had grown. Just for fun we put her in that same outfit and took a picture to compare.

On the left- January 20th; On the right- March 4th

Of note: how much bigger and higher her head is, how she actually fits in the newborn footed pajamas and hat, how much longer her legs are, how much more spaced out the harness and buckles are, and how she fills out the seat area. It's amazing how much they grow in six weeks!!

Something not baby related :-O

About four years ago, I snagged this chandelier for our dining room off of Freecycle. Sadly it was better than what was there, but I never loved it since it was hung way too high and it didn't jive well with the rest of our house.

Fast forward to earlier this month when I saw a deal on WUSLU for a cute chalkboard pendant light that would be a perfect replacement. At only $50 it was worth the risk, so I ordered one and hoped for the best. It came in about a week ago and we finally had a chance to put it up.

Oddly enough it came with a wall plug (wha??), but because the Mr. is a modern day MacGyver he was able to hardwire it without any problems. Because our table isn't centered in the room, we had to drape the chain over and use a ceiling hook to get it looking juuuust right. I love how it looks and am so happy I took the plunge (so to speak).

The scale is much better for this space and the black looks great against the dark blue wall.
I even splurged on an $8 bulb because it was so cool looking

Cost breakdown:
Lamp: $51
Bulb: $8

Total cost: $75

Smiley baby

Who's ready to see a baby smile? Really, what is cuter than a baby smiling? Not much...

video

Now, I know it's not the best video, but I have video proof that she knows how to show those pearly whites fleshy gums :)
