Operation: Don't die camping
As I said earlier in the week, the Mr. and I are going camping with some friends this weekend. I have been stalking weather.com, hoping the forecast would change. (Un)fortunately it did- for the worse. Now we're scheduled to have rain all weekend with highs in the mid 40s. After seeing that last night I made an executive decision to beef up my winter footwear and our nighttime blanket supply.
So yesterday after I got home we headed to DSW to do a quick cold weather shoe purchase. None of my shoes were 1) warm or 2) waterproof and I knew this had to change. Cold wet feet all weekend would make me a very unhappy person. Luckily I found some cheaper boots, that combined with some gift cards would only cost about $50. Consider it done.
After DSW we went to Target (yay!) and bought some other last minute items for camping- batteries, ping pong balls, water, snacks and a sleeping bag for me. Even though I was going to borrow my sister's sleeping bag, having another layer isn't such a bad idea when the temps will be in the 30s at night. Plus the one I ended up buying was rated down to 40 degrees and only cost $16. How do you say "no" to that?
We also dropped the pups off at their aunt's house last night, so they will no doubt have a fabulous weekend. We finished up 90% of the packing, too... just have to pack up a few more small things and buy the perishable foods like bacon and hot dogs.
Now only eight hours of work and we'll be on our merry way! Have a fantastic weekend everyone. Watch some TV for me :)
I hope you're alive and well camping right now! ;) Sounds like fun actually. :)
Love your blog background by the way!
