I don't quite understand...
Almost every morning after the Mr. gets out of bed (around 4am), Macintosh knows he is allowed up in bed with me. Since we sleep in an ittttty bitttttty full sized bed, this is the only time it's allowed. He will get up from his bed, do his morning stretch, and slooooowly creep up into bed with me. Now comes the part I don't understand.
There is a big open area to my right, and quite a bit of room around my feet, but no. He must lay *between* my legs and as close to my torso as he can. And he likes to curl up into a ball instead of sleeping in a "line". So here I am minding my own business when he curls up into that ball at 4:05am. It's almost as if he's afraid of anything past my knees!
So come 4:15, I generally untangle myself from his snuggling and roll over onto the Mr.'s side of the bed. At which point he generally lifts his head to see what happened, yawns, and goes back to sleep. Maybe it was his plan all along to make me move, in which case he's doing a darn good job. But more likely he really just loves his Mommy that much and wants to be close.
He does a similar thing when I call him up onto our love seat. With a whole seat open for him, he chooses to curl up as close to me as humanly possible. Normally he'll rest his head on my laptop, as if to say "You know you want to pet me". This doesn't bother me as much since it's not FOUR AM!
It's a rough life being a dog.
